For most faces, larger glasses are more flattering than small lens shapes, as they open the face and optically lift the eye area.
Neutral frames give you the freedom to experiment with the full rainbow of colours.
Whilst with coloured frames, you'll want to keep the colour to your glasses, and lightly define eyes with liner and neutral creams and taupes. If you have a bold colour frame then a matching lipstick can be very eye catching, or go with something like a nude glossy lip colour to highlight your frames.
If you choose black frames, stay away from a strong smokey eye, as this will look too busy. Use a lighter shade of eyeliner, such as a soft grey, chocolate or charcoal instead of black.
Fittings on rimless glasses can make the bridge of your nose more noticeable. You can minimise this effect by drawing attention away from the centre and out towards the sides by keeping your eye shadow pale in the corners of your eyes and darken gently as you go out to the edge.
Strong vision eyeglass wearers will have eyes that appear larger. To balance out the size of your eyes, apply a deep eyeliner to the inside rim, or choose a dark brown shade to powder and smudge for the same minimising effect.
If you wear negative lenses glasses, your eyes will look smaller. Go with a light shade of eyeliner on the inside rim of lashes and add a touch of deeper shadow on the upper lash line and the outer one-third corner of your bottom lash line to create the illusion of bigger eyes. Add a touch of ivory shimmer to the inner corners as this will reflect light and magnify your eyes.
Keep it simple
There is one feature you can not forget when it comes to perfecting your makeup look while wearing glasses, your eyebrows. Eyewear looks best when it forms a parallel line along the eyebrow, which should always be visible above the edge of the lens.
Glasses frame your eyes, and brows frame your face. You'll want to pay attention to your eyebrow arch and fill in with a powder or pencil for subtle definition and extend outward. Keeping your eye brows shaped and tidy will give a very clean look to your face no matter what style glasses you wear.
Wearing glasses can often lead to oil build up, so it is really important to keep both your face and the rims of your glasses clean. Use a light cream concealer to help banish away annoying circles and marks that glasses often create and choose a lighter shade of blush over a darker colour as this will highlight your cheeks.
Top tip- If you have an anti-reflective coating on your lenses then your eyes will be clearly seen without distracting reflections and it will make a tremendous difference to your appearance.
